June 28, 2026 – I just finished up the In Your Write Mind conference at Seton Hill University. I met many fun and interesting people and got some good advice from several of them, and picked up more good advice from the workshop sessions. I read my flash fiction piece “The AI Labor Organizer” to an appreciative crowd at a pizza party. I participated in the book-signing. (I usually avoid signings, but this one seemed less painful somehow; maybe I’ll work up the nerve and try another sometime.) I presented my session How Not to Market a Book about my troubles trying to market Softlife and received helpful feedback from the audience. I had enjoyable conversations with a couple of agents. And of course I sampled the doughnuts they put out for us each day. Seton Hill holds this conference annually, and I recommend it to any writers out there, whether established professional, wanna-be, or anywhere between. https://inyourwritemindnet.wordpress.com/
